Pegboard Review

The pegboard was going to be the entire post but there just is not to be much to talk about it. I ordered mine through Home Depot because it seemed to be the best deal. I chose all metal so I can hang my power tools on it if I decide to.

The pegboard is hard to review because it’s so simple and although I do like it there were a few things that displeased me about the item. First, there were no instructions which is fine but there was also only hardware for wood installation and not concrete.

None of these are deal breakers but having to piece together the hardware and the install myself did make the experience a little less than ideal. Overall it is a good pegboard and I think for under 40 dollars a person would be hard-pressed to find a better deal.

The pegboard: Everbilt Heavy-Duty Steel Pegboards

The Rest of the Blog

Okay, so the pegboard was so simple and took so little time to install that it led me to do more pressing projects. One of my more pressing concerns is my sink drain which I had procrastinated on fixing for some time now.

To catch everyone up on what has been going on, I had attempted to run the pipe straight to the drain but it did not align so I took the straight connector off to instead use a 45-degree pipe. The issue is that the threaded pipe that was attached to the T connector in the wall rusted away.

So the most straightforward solution would be to convert the pipe to PVC or ABS but really do not have the knowledge to do so.

The next solution which is arguably harder is to remove the old pipe by chiseling it away and trying to tap in a new thread. Obviously, the skill needed for this second approach is less and likely what I will be doing. I do wish I knew a contractor who is familiar with plumping as I would ask them to help me switch away from galvanized steel.

The Similarity to Cars and the Conclusion

I find working on house projects similar to cars in the sense that fixing the repair is not as much of a challenge as it is knowing how to do it. I hope to discover the correct way and share it here on the blog but if I cannot I will also share the not-so-correct ways as a journey of learning together.
